Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) is a program by the USPS that allows retail businesses to mail at 14.2 cents per postcard. Not only can you mail postcards, but you can also mail catalogs, brochures, samples, or anything else. You can mail anything as long as it meets "commercial flat" size requirements. I have recently used this program and even with the cost of paper and ink I was able to produce quality mailings for less than what the discount printing services would have charged. I did have one major concern though. How does the customer know if the mail pieces were actually delivered. I mean I don’t expect or even really know if it is possible to do some sort of real accounting short of following the postman around. Wouldn’t it be great though to get an email or a mailing indicating the date your mail pieces were finished being delivered?
